Upcoming New Maruti MPV – Launch Timeline, Key Details

Maruti Suzuki Upcoming New MPV: The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki (Maruti Suzuki) plans to launch several new models in the coming years to strengthen its SUV market. Apart from this, the Indo-Japanese automaker will also bring a new MPV which will be based on the Toyota Innova Hycross. The MPV car will make its global debut in November, followed by its India launch in January 2023. The new Maruti MPV is expected to hit the roads in the second half of 2023. Interestingly, this will be Toyota’s first rebadged model for Maruti Suzuki.
Being a premium product, the new Maruti MPV will be sold through the Nexa dealership network. In terms of price and position, it will be above the Ertiga. The car will take on the upcoming Stargazer from Kia Carens and Hyundai and the new C-segment MPV from Toyota. Maruti’s new three-row MPV will be designed on Toyota’s TNGA-C platform and is likely to come with two powertrains – a naturally aspirated petrol and a strong hybrid.
The upcoming Toyota Innova HighCross is likely to come with a heavily localized hybrid system. The current Innova will get the RWD (rear-wheel drive) setup, while the new model will get the FWD (front-wheel drive) system, unlike it. The new Maruti MPV will share most of its design elements, features and components with the Innova HighCross. However, it could get a differently designed front grille, bumpers and headlamps. Some changes can also be made in its rear section.
The interiors of Maruti’s new C-segment MPV could be similar to the recently launched Grand Vitara and Hyrider SUVs. It is expected to get leatherette steering wheel, 360-degree camera, a sunroof, digital instrument cluster, heads-up display, Suzuki connected car features, wireless charger, SmartPlay Pro+ infotainment system, ambient door lighting, multiple airbags, reverse parking camera and more. It will be equipped with features like cruise control. More details about this new MPV from Maruti Suzuki are likely to be revealed in the near future.
