New Delhi: Applications are being accepted for admission to the postgraduate Society and Culture program at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Gandhinagar. Candidates may apply for the program if they hold a bachelor’s degree in any field. The course registration deadline is February 10, 2024.
The MA in Society and Culture is an interdisciplinary program with a distinctive design. It prepares students for a wide range of careers in different sectors. Graduates of the programme can find employment in the media, advertising/media, human resources, writing, and non-profit sector (NGOs, policy think tanks). Such candidates are also eligible for academic positions in public policy and ecological science teaching and research, among others. The graduates can look for PhD options abroad further.
The course enables students to have a greater grasp of the linkages between many academic fields and encourages them to create varied viewpoints on social and cultural concerns. Additionally, the institute offers travel scholarships of up to ₹ 60,000 and encourages these students to present their findings at international conferences abroad.

Key fields in the humanities and social sciences, including as history, political science, sociology, literature, cultural studies, translation studies, and anthropology, are covered in this course.
Through the IIT Gandhinagar Explorer Fellowships, students can travel across the nation, visit historical and archaeological sites in Gujarat, conduct fieldwork and ethnographic research, and take advantage of numerous other national and international academic and industrial internship opportunities.
