As previously reported, Congressman Rahul Gandhi has filed an appeal against the verdict and sentence handed down by a Surat magistrate court in a criminal defamation case brought against him in 2019.

Purnesh Modi, a former BJP legislator, submitted a complaint alleging that he had disparaged the entire Modi community at a campaign address at Kolar nearly four years prior, leading to his conviction. “Nirav Modi, Lalit Modi, Narendra Modi,” allegedly stated Gandhi. Why do all the thieves share the surname “Modi”?
Gandhi is a Member of Parliament (MP), thus whatever he says will have more of an effect, according to Judge Hadirash Varma. He ought to have used restraint as a result.
