Before tomorrow’s planned visit by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Uttarakhand, the Lipulekh Pass, Dharchula, and Adi Kailash have been prioritise

Lipulekh: Adi Kailash, in Uttarakhand, is one of the holiest places for Hindus, and the path used to include a substantial portion that could only be travelled by foot. And days used to pass. However, the trip will be simpler once a motorable road is built to Lipulekh.

Prior to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s planned visit to Uttarakhand tomorrow, NDTV made trips to Lipulekh Pass, Dharchula, and Adi Kailash. The boundary between India, Nepal, and Tibet is right next to Lipulekh, and the territory beyond it is inaccessible to regular people. From this location, one can see Mount Kailash.

Adi Kailash, a mountain in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh area that is roughly 5,945 metres high. While passing through Dharchula, the routes to Kailash Mansarovar and Adi Kailash diverge from Gunji. While Kailash Mansarovar is in Tibet, which China claims as its own territory, Adi Kailash is in India. The Kailash Mansarovar yatra is still on hold as a result of many causes.

It is possible to drive from Dharchula to Tawaghat. The following mountainous stretch can now be driven through; formerly, it could only be done on foot and would take 8 to 10 days. The road not only makes life simpler for the pilgrims, but it also provides people with job opportunities.

Army and Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) base camps are located in Jolikong, close to Adi Kailash. The border between India, Tibet, and Nepal is about 40 kilometres away. Civilians are permitted here only. There are not many hotels in Jolikong.

According to legend, Adi Kailash is where Shiva and Parvati paused before entering Samadhi on Mount Kailash. The people still hold the view that Parvati once bathed in a temple, which is still held by them now. Ponds continue to represent the legendary idea.

On Thursday morning, PM Modi will go to the Adi Kailash temple and worship there. Around midday, he would offer prayers at Jageshwar temple in the Almora district and engage in conversation with the locals of Gunji. He will lay the cornerstones for a number of state development projects later in the day.
