DAV Sports Meet: State-Level Championship Celebrates Sportsmanship and Camaraderie

The DAV Sports Meet, a state-level championship for Boys (U-14, U-16 & U-19), unfolded magnificently from 10^th to 12^th December ’23 at DAV Centenary Public School, Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur, orchestrated under the patronage of DAV CMC, Delhi

This prestigious sporting gala brought together approximately 300 enthusiastic sportspersons from 18 DAV Schools across Rajasthan, engaging in spirited competitions encompassing team games and track & field events.

Commencing on 10^th December’23, the event commenced with an uplifting inauguration ceremony hosted at the school premises. Mr. A K Sharma, Principal DAV CPS, Jaipur, ARO, and Zonal Head, unfurled the flag, marking the official inauguration, followed by the resonating echo of the DAV Anthem. In his stirring address, Mr. Sharma emphasized the essence of fair play, extolling the importance of participation over mere triumph. He urged all participants to embody true sportsmanship and foster team spirit. Mr. Sharma also highlighted the accreditation of DAV Sports as a distinguished unit affiliated with SGFI, recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

As the three-day extravaganza concluded on 12^th December’23, medals were awarded to the deserving winners, acknowledging their outstanding performances and dedication. Principal A K Sharma concluded by highlighting the transformative impact of sports on character building and overall development. He emphasized the importance of playing sports and imparted his heartfelt best wishes to all participants, encouraging them to continue their pursuit of excellence both on and off the field.

The closing ceremony witnessed the dignified lowering of the flag by the principal of DAV Centenary Public School, Jaipur, ARO, and Zonal Head, Mr A K Sharma in the esteemed presence of Mr. Harbans Singh Thakur, Principal of DAV Jawar Mines as well as Cluster Head, accompanied by the rendition of the national anthem, signifying a moment of pride and unity among all the participants and attendees.
