Nita Ambani was awarded the 2023 USISPF Global Leadership Award for her charitable work with the Reliance Foundation

The 2023 USISPF Global Leadership Award for Philanthropy and Corporate Social Responsibility was presented to Nita Ambani, Founder and Chair of Reliance Foundation. John Chambers, Chairman of USISPF, presented the prize at a reception in New Delhi attended by major USISPF figures, Indian business executives, and Government of India officials.

Nita Ambani, a well-known philanthropist and businesswoman, has touched the lives of millions of people in India through her Reliance Foundation projects in education, the arts, sports, and healthcare.

She advocates for women’s and children’s issues, helping to bridge the gender gap and strengthen women’s involvement in India’s economy.

Cultural and artistic recognition

Nita Ambani was named the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s first Indian Honorary Trustee, recognising her outstanding contributions to arts and culture.

The Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) in Mumbai has gained global appreciation for its promotion of world-class performing and visual arts as well as the development of Indian talent.

Advocacy for Sports and the Olympics

Nita Ambani successfully led the Indian team that won the proposal to host the 141st IOC Session in India after four decades as the country’s representative on the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

She supports sports at the grassroots level, helping young athletes across India and lobbying for cricket’s participation in the Olympics, which is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles in 2028.
