New Delhi: According to sources, the Central agency has strongly reacted to Delhi minister Atishi’s claims of coercion and evidence manipulation against the Enforcement Directorate, and has threatened to take legal action against her. Leading sources within the Enforcement Directorate informed NDTV that the accusations made by the minister are “malicious, unfounded, and false.”

“Every statement made by the accused was captured on camera and provided to them upon request. The trial court now has access to the video,” an unnamed official stated.

The official stated that because the video was captured using outdated equipment, it lacks audio. According to sources, ED officers recorded the interrogation sessions on audio, and they have never erased any of it.

Only in October 2023 did the CCTV systems in the ED offices receive modernization.

“You make baseless allegations daily to divert attention from the allegations against you by politicians,” he stated. According to officials, the Enforcement Directorate may pursue significant legal action in light of these accusations.

Ms. Atishi claimed at a press conference earlier today that the central agency provides fabricated evidence in court and coerces witnesses in the purported liquor scam to turn approver.

“An accused filed an application to obtain CCTV footage because there was discrepancy between the statements made during interrogation and the evidence presented in court. There was no audio on the video when ED sent it to the press, she informed them.

She continued, saying that AAP had learned from sources that the ED had erased the audio from each questioning session since the investigation into the Delhi liquor policy case began. “This demonstrates how everything is phony. The ED’s investigation is a hoax,” she declared.

She claimed that the ED is required, along with all other law enforcement agencies, to videotape its interrogation sessions as per a Supreme Court ruling.

Other party leaders’ homes are being searched by the Enforcement Directorate, which has detained a number of AAP leaders in relation to the purported liquor scam, including former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. Bibhav Kumar, Mr. Kejriwal’s personal secretary, and Ms. Atishi are on the list.
