Beeper for Android now allows you to add new services directly from the mobile app and supports native features like chat bubbles

The most recent version of Beeper for Android features a total makeover. The updated software has a revised UI that Android users will recognize, and Beeper now supports several native features seen on Google’s mobile operating system. Additionally, the software has been optimized for tablets, foldable phones, and larger-display devices. Users can utilize invite codes to get around the line even if there is a waitlist for those who sign up to use the service.

The business entirely rewrote the app from the ground up for better performance, according to Beeper Founder Eric Migicovsky, in a blog post unveiling the new version of the app that is currently in open beta. According to Migicovsky, the firm intends to launch a paid membership “in the very near future” in addition to the new Android app, which is presently in beta testing.

The application will store conversations on the user’s smartphone in a cache for quicker loading times and message search functionality. While Apple took down the Beeper Mini app in January, it is still possible to download the earlier Beeper Cloud software. The Beeper Mini app briefly provided direct access to iMessage on Android before being permanently shut down.

Those who have successfully cleared the queue will need to download Beeper’s latest beta version for Android from the Play Store. Material You and OLED Black are the two new themes from which they can choose. The updated Android app has two inbox options: Minimal, which displays a cleaner interface, and Pro, which displays a more thorough chat view.

The latest Beeper for Android version provides support for native features like chat bubbles in addition to these aesthetic enhancements. A new widget on the home screen allows users to view their chats as well. The blog post also notes that the application has been optimized for usage on tablets and flexible devices.

Currently supported chat systems include Telegram, Signal, WhatsApp, SMS (with RCS), Messenger, and Beeper on Android. Future software updates, according to the blog post, will include support for erasing chats and an on-device end-to-end encrypted (E2EE) bridge for Google Messages and WhatsApp. Although there is currently no support for iMessage, an on-device bridge is anticipated soon.
