Gujarat: Diwali gift to people before assembly elections in Gujarat, 10% reduction in VAT on CNG-PNG announced

The Gujarat government has taken a big decision to give relief to the people. Ahead of the assembly elections and Diwali, the government has reduced VAT on CNG and PNG by 10 per cent in the state. Minister Jitu Vaghani has announced this.

Earlier, the Election Commission had announced the election dates of Himachal Pradesh. However, the commission has not yet announced for the Gujarat elections. It is being told that the dates of Gujarat elections will be announced after Diwali. There is a gap of 26 days between the polling and the counting of votes in Himachal.

Last time elections were held in Gujarat in two phases. The election dates were announced on 25 October 2017. The notification for the first phase was issued on November 14 and the voting for the second phase was held on November 20. The results for the first phase of elections were declared on 9 December 2017 and the second phase on 14 December. Voting was held in 89 seats in the first phase and 93 in the second phase.
