CELEBRATING TEACHERS ON THE TEACHER’S DAY

To commemorate the birth of the second President of India Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a philosopher and a great teacher, 5th September every year is celebrated as Teacher’s Day. His contribution towards Indian education is undeniable.

The Teacher’s Day was organised with incredible gusto and zeal by the students and Teachers of DAV Centenary Public School, Jaipur. Teachers play a major role in making their students responsible citizens of tomorrow and good human beings. Hence to express their gratitude, a wide range of activities were organised on this occasion.

A special Assembly was conducted by students to express their gratitude and affection for their teachers. The students planned many spectacles for the day and showcased many scintillating dance performances, on some peppy numbers. Group Song Presentation by students and a Beautiful Card presented by NCC Cadets to the Principal highlighted the heartwarming relationship between a teacher and a student. In his address the Principal Shri. Ashok Kumar Sharma reminded the students of the tireless labour and love all the teachers put in to bring them up as knowledgeable and compassionate individuals. It was a remarkable day for all the DAVIANS with many unforgettable moments. A Cricket Match between Male teachers and Students and Musical Chair for Female teachers was organised in the school playground. Food stalls put up in the school premises, also added flavour to the event, where the students enjoyed delicious and mouth-watering chaat, sandwiches, sumptuous bakery items, cold beverages and ice creams.

 After the ‘Hawan’, there was a special celebration for teachers which was held in the School Auditorium. The program started at with Lamp lighting and a prayer song. The Principal of the school Shri. Ashok Kumar Sharma presided over the function. As per the DAV tradition the Principal was honoured by Teaching Faculty, Office Staff and Group D Staff with Safa, Shawl , Shri fal, bouquet and a painting. The auditorium vibrated with power packed and sensational performances of the teachers. The melodious songs, the heart throbbing dances and thrilling games made the day the most memorable one for the teachers. The day concluded by honouring the teachers for their valuable contributions to the school. They were felicitated by certificates, Shri fal, Shawl and Saplings for various categories by the Principal. The Principal appreciated the sincerest efforts of the teachers in playing a catalytic role in the holistic development of every student and he also conveyed the Teacher’s Day message conveyed by Padmashri Poonam Suriji, President of DAVCMC. A grand lunch was a part of the celebration. Thus, the entire celebration paved a new hope for teachers to rejoice the journey as a teacher. The crux of the programme was ‘Celebrating Teachers on the Teacher’s Day…
