Rajasthan lost by six wickets in the 1000th IPL game, and Mumbai won thanks to David’s three sixes in the final over. Yashasvi also scored a century.

The Mumbai Indians (MI) defeated the Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 6 wickets in the IPL’s 1000th game. Mumbai needed 17 runs in the last over of a thrilling game. Tim David gave his team the win by hitting three sixes in the first three balls in front of Jason Holder. David managed to score 45 runs in 14 balls and is still unbeaten.

Yashasvi Jaiswal, a 21-year-old Rajasthani cricketer, scored his first century. He pitched a 124 run, 62 ball inning. For this effort, he was given the Player of the Match trophy. Mumbai native Suryakumar Yadav scored 55 runs off of 29 balls.

Yashasvi Jaiswal of Rajasthan scored a century off 53 balls in the first innings to push her team’s score over 200. After scoring 124 runs in 62 balls, he was still unbeaten. He also scored his first IPL century with this performance.

Suryakumar’s performance

Suryakumar Yadav scored fifty runs in the second inning on 24 balls. He was out for 55 runs when Sandeep Sharma made a diving catch and sent him to the pavilion. Mumbai needed 57 runs in 4 overs when he was dismissed.

3 sixes from David

Tim David scored 45 off 14 balls after entering the fray in the 16th over after Suryakumar Yadav’s wicket fell. David hit three consecutive sixes to help Mumbai win the game with 17 runs needed in the final over.

On 53 balls, Yashasvi scored a century.

Yashasvi Jaiswal launched an attack right away. He and Jos Buttler shared a 71-run partnership, and he continued to bat through the final over to push the team’s total over 200. Yashasvi scored his first IPL century in 53 balls before being bowled out with 124 runs scored in 62 balls. He had a 200 strikeout to walk ratio in this inning, hitting 16 fours and 8 sixes.

IPL 2023 enters its third century.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored the IPL 2023’s third century. Before him, Venkatesh Iyer of Kolkata scored 104 against Mumbai, and Harry Brook of Hyderabad scored 100 against Kolkata. Yashasvi’s 124 is the season’s highest score, and it is also the highest score for Rajasthan. Jos Buttler had previously scored 124 runs off 64 balls for Rajasthan.

Rajasthan made a quick start after choosing to bat first after winning the toss thanks to Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler. Butler started making big shots after taking some time, whereas Jaiswal started making them from the first over. In the fifth over by itself, they formed their fifth fifty-run partnership of the year, and after six overs without a loss, the team’s total had reached 65 runs.

Butler exited after a review

In the third over of the first innings, Butler was ruled to have been caught out by the umpire on a Cameron Green ball. Butler requested a review, and the footage revealed that the ball had not touched the bat’s edge. Butler was not declared out after the umpire revised his ruling. He struggled to utilise Jeevdan, though, and was out for 18 runs in the eighth over.

Jos Buttler scored 18, Sanju Samson 14, Devdutt Paddikal 2, Jason Holdner 11, Shimron Hetmyer 8, Dhruv Jurel 2, and Ravichandran Ashwin each scored 14, in addition to Yashasvi from Rajasthan. Mumbai’s Arshad Khan and Piyush Chawla each took three wickets. Riley Meredith and Joffra Archer each secured one wicket.

Loss of Rohit’s wicket during powerplay

Mumbai had a difficult time starting the 213 run chase. In the very first over, the team lost the wicket of captain Rohit. Ishaan Kishan and Cameron Green then took control of the innings, leading to a total of 58 runs in 6 overs for the team.

Fifty’s aggressive Suryakumar

At the plate, Suryakumar Yadav batted at number four and reached fifty in only 24 balls. He made shots from all over the pitch, maintaining the team’s winning chances. Trent Boult struck Surya after he had amassed 55 runs in 29 balls. Sandeep Sharma made a spectacular diving catch of him.

Tim David, who was brought in after Suryakumar was dismissed, gave the team the victory by scoring 45 runs in an unbeaten inning off just 14 balls. Along with him, Tilak Verma was still in the game after 21 balls and a score of 29. Ishaan Kishan scored 28, Cameron Green scored 44, and Rohit Sharma scored 3 runs for the remaining batsmen on the team.

Rajasthan lost 2 wickets to Ravichandran Ashwin. Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma both achieved victories of 1–1.

The 1000th IPL match between champion teams

The 1000th match in IPL history was played between Mumbai and Rajasthan. Mumbai is the most successful IPL team. The team has won the IPL five times, in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. And Rajasthan won the first season of the IPL. In such a case, the 1000th match between these two historic teams was played.
