Vande Bharat on Track: Vande Bharat Express back on track, collided with a herd of buffaloes

The country’s third high-speed train Vande Bharat Express is back on track once again. The front part of the train was damaged after colliding with a herd of buffaloes a day ago, which has now been fixed.

Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer, Western Railway said, the front part and mounting bracket of Vande Bharat Express train were damaged in the accident, which have been fixed at the Coach Care Center of Mumbai Central. “The critical operating parts of the train were not affected by the collision,” he said.

There was a collision while going to Maninagar

Sumit Thakur, Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway had told on Thursday that the Vande Bharat Express train had met with an accident while going from Vatva station to Maninagar at around 11.15 am. The accident took place due to the arrival of a herd of buffaloes on the railway line between the two stations. However, there was no harm to the passengers in this accident. According to railway officials, due to the accident, the train was stopped at the spot for some time, later after investigation the train was sent to the destination.

PM Modi had shown the green signal

The country’s third indigenously built high speed Vande Bharat Express train was flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Gandhinagar station six days ago. This train is running between Gandhinagar to Mumbai Central. State Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Minister of State for Railways Darshana Jardosh were also present during this.

Has a seating capacity of 1128 passengers

Vande Bharat Express has a total seating capacity of 1,128 passengers. The first Vande Bharat Express train ran on the New Delhi-Varanasi route on February 15, 2019. At the same time, the second train was run from New Delhi to Shri Vaishno Devi Mata, Katra route. The third Vande Bharat train is different from the earlier Vande Bharat trains. In view of the passenger amenities in this new train, many changes have been made. Special arrangements have also been made regarding Kovid in the new train.

Vande Bharat train is equipped with ‘KAVACH’ technology

KAVACH (Train Collision Avoidance System) technology is being launched for the first time in this Vande Bharat train running in Gujarat. With the help of this technology, accidents like head-on collision of two trains will be prevented. This technology has been developed indigenously, due to which its cost is very low. The plan to bring the rail network up to 2,000 km under ‘Kavach’ was announced by the central government in the budget of 2022.

Known as Swadeshi Semi-High Speed, this train achieves the speed of 0 to 100 kmph in just 52 seconds. The train is fitted with automatic plug doors with sliding footsteps as well as touch free sliding doors for the convenience of the passengers. Modern technology like Coach Control Management System for AC monitoring, and GSM/GPRS for communication and feedback with control center and maintenance staff.
