Shivraj Chouhan Government’s “Report Card” Will Be Released By Amit Shah On Sunday

Bhopal: According to a party official, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will address the BJP’s working committee meeting in Gwalior, the hometown of Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, and unveil the Madhya Pradesh government’s “report card” on Sunday.

“Shah-ji will visit this area (Bhopal) on August 20 in the morning and announce the government of Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s grade at a ceremony. After there, he will travel to Gwalior, where he will preside over and speak at a working committee meeting, according to Ashish Agrawal, chairman of the state BJP’s media cell, who spoke with Press Trust of India on Saturday.

According to BJP officials, the party’s general secretaries, district presidents, MLAs, and MPs have been instructed to travel to Gwalior. They reported that over 1,500 office-holders have been invited to the conference where the party is likely to announce its final strategy for the elections.

The state working committee will hold its final meeting before the MP’s upcoming elections at the end of the year.

Another BJP representative stated, “We want to expand our activity in Gwalior, the former kingdom of the Scindias.

Political analysts claim that the BJP is making an effort to do well in the Gwalior and Chambal region, particularly after losing the 57-year-old mayoral election in Gwalior to the Congress last year.

In the Gwalior and Chambal region, the Congress won 26 of the 34 seats in the 2018 assembly elections. At the time, Jyotiraditya Scindia was a member of the Congress.

In the byelections held in the Gwalior and Chambal region in November 2020, the Congress was only able to win 7 of the 19 seats after Jyotiraditya Scindia and his supporters crossed over to the BJP.

A political expert noted that the BJP doesn’t want to take any chances in light of the defeat it suffered in the Gwalior municipal elections last year.
